IF I were you I'd do the consult and when you know there is nothing more you can do ...then make that decision
but in the meantime - try to be optimistic
my heart goes out to you - I'm so sorry...I hope it IS something far less serious than it sounds - As long as you can tell he isn't in pain then I would be doing the same thing as you.....what a way to have your heart ripped out
