I wouldn't breed one that big to your small 8 pound female. If he was the largest in his litter, then he may have been a crop out on size, but you can't guarantee that it won't happen on your female and then you would be looking at a C section. With an 8 pound and 10 pound you are only going to get big pups I would say.
As far as marking, if you have a female in the house, good luck. You may want to try a belly band but I have never gotten my male to stop marking. Had to go to all Tile floors and they don't get to come up to my wood floors any more. If I didn't love him so much I would re-think about putting a male in my house with a female again.
