Default update: My sick Pound Puppy

We went to the vet on Friday. She said that "Pops" has a severe neurological problem. She said that it would be kind to put him to sleep. She said that she could arrange for a consult with a neurologist, but that since there was no history on him and why he has this problem that it would be almost impossible to treat. I was going to take him home for the weekend and then put him to sleep on Monday. I CAN'T DO IT!

He just got a little personality. Sashajade posted, and I think she just may be on the money. It sounds like her dog was doing the same thing that he is. They told me when I got him that they treated him for an ear infection. I am going to the consult with the neuro. If he just needs some very strong antibiotics, then how can I not? I'll do what I can and hopefully that will be enough.

Is it cruel to try to keep him alive, even with the best intentions? I asked the vet if he was in pain or miserable and she said no. If the neuro says it's hopeless then I won't prolong the inevidible.
