If you're just getting this potentially 10 lbs Yorkie as a pet, get it!
I wish that this breeder didn't exist that was producing an out of the standard size, presumably on purpose, but they do occur. The Yorkshire Terrier of yesteryear was 10 lbs and then some! We've just come a long way in cultivating this breed into the small Yorkie of today. And I think it's safe to say that while the smaller the bone, the more increased incident of joint problems, I don't know that I'd attribute size neccessarily directly w/ other major health problems.

Again, if you're not wanting to breed or show, who cares if you have a "hefty" Yorkie, you're going to provide him w/ a fabulous home and hopefully post photos up on here of him when he comes home! Show him off! Of course, as w/ any breeder-those within the standard and those outside of it-be sure you get a good health guarantee on your puppy and that the parents have passed all of their health screenings prior to purchase!
