At six months of age, it can still happen, just unlikely.
You may want to start w/ trimming a portion of the tip of the ears. And personally I'd go one step further and tape them up myself at this point.
If you're not sure how to do all of the above, just ask and I'm sure fellow members here will be able to post up photos at the very least to give examples. If not, then you may want to solicit the advice of a local veterinarian that is experienced in taping ears.
Don't give up just yet if it's something you really want!
