Here it is, from 'is this a Yorkie" Ok not too long ago I heard of a red legged yorkie which most of the times has coarse/wire silk coat. Their body temp. is usually lower than normal and they have a deeper red color to them. Breeders usually use these yorkies to get better colors in their lines. The hair on their legs and face I believe never gets long like a true silk yorkie. To me (JMHO) this is a true full blooded yorkie and he seems to fit the characteristics of a red-legged yorkie. I will google and find out more!!!

Here at this site the breeder just comments about it a bit. http://www.geocities.com/angeljulie2/bitney.html
I will look for more site but I have heard a few breeders mention it these past couple of days on a yahoo group I belong to...

Hi Myra,
Thanks for the new website info. I have been reading and rereading everything I can get my hands on. I am so excited! Don't get me wrong, EVERY puppy is exciting and a blessing, but to have 2 puppies so rare with white markings is still a bit unbelievable. What is interesting is that my little black and tan puppies don't really have a lot of the tan. They are darker in the face and feet than any of Tea Leaf's other puppies (but definetly not all "black" as I have found occurs also). As far as AKC goes, I know they won't recognize the red ones, but does anyone know if I still get to register my black and tan ones (due to them being in the same litter). A breeder did offer to buy my red puppies and told me that AKC might want to take away Tea Leaf's AKC rights. I don't believe it, but it did put some fear in me. Any info would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Julz
