Connie is right - they don't have to even fly away with their 'catch' - the talons alone will incapacitate their prey & inflict serious damage ....hawks WILL try if the yorkie is small enough so be careful !! (A few years ago a friend was no more than 20 feet away, and a hawk got her little yorkie)
Hopefully with you right there... that's deterrant enough
