| yep...fabric matters! Quote: |
I did order some once, and they were made of such slick material (almost a satin shiny-type material) that they just slid all over the place. So, the type of material you choose is important. Something with a little more grip and hold to it does help them stay in place ---
| That's right the fabric does make a big difference. Most of Teddy's are made of a heavy fabric such as denim on the outside with flannel on the inside. I also put a layer of batting between the two layers. I had to play around with them until I got a design that would keep them from twisting getting the pad out of place. I make the underneath with a curved extension of fabric top and bottom...this minimizes slipping and keeps the pad in place much better than just a straight piece of fabric. They are 3 1/2-4 in. wide and the length is made according to size of the dog. I use large pieces of Velcro for closures which also allow for adjustment. I never thought about using washcloths that is a clever idea...especially for use around the house. I do like to dress Teddy up when we go out though cause he is such a little show off when it comes to his clothes! These pictures don't do him justice ...my camera doesn't do well with indoor pics. Also I forgot to add his bow ties to his vests...the finishing touch! |
