I would definetly have it checked, but I would perhaps reserve asking for payment until you figure out what the problem is, meaning maybe ask to have them pay after the vet says it is from/ or could be from a grooming issue. The Banfeild idea is good insofar as it would not really require any expenditure on their part...I just find that it is better to find out what the problem is before you demand compensation, in terms of seeming credible.

I hope you little guy is okay and everything works out well, and I hope I do not sound discouraging because if they hurt him they should pay!!!
