I had a Yorkie many years ago that was diagnosed at 10 months with this condition. She had surgery and was fine after recovery. She had no issues afterwards. She lived until 12 yrs. when she was diagnosed with cancer. They didn't have chemo for dogs back then. It had to be about 25 yrs. ago.
I always am a wreck when they need surgery.
