Hubby and I went out last night and bought a Canon A630. AWESOME camera. We just love it. The one feature that I like...and one of the reasons we bought this model is that the screen opens and like a video camera can be turned around, etc. It allows for taking pictures from difficult angles.
I researched for weeks online, checking out consumer reports, tests, etc., and found the canon to be the best camera by far. A bit more costly, but worth it in the long run. Oh, also make sure that your camera has a viewfinder. More and more cameras don't have them anymore as people are relying solely on the screen to look at while taking their pictures...but if it's a sunny day, if your battery is low, the screen is useless.
