I have been an endoscopy nurse for 13 years your dtr will do fine kids tend to take very little medication she will be on monitors throughout the test and in recovery usually 30-45 minutes the test itself only takes about 5-10 min. depending on what the md sees or why the test is being performed he may take biopsies, they are taked with a biopsy forcep that fits down an opening through the scope and a small snip of tissue is taken nothing serious and it doesnt hurt, before the test they will spray her throat with a numbing spray to numb her gag reflex this feeling only last about thirty minutes and she will be able to drink after that and then eat. Good luck I hope this test gives you answers it is very scary anytime your child has to have test but this is an easy on.
