My dog wears belly bands - he's 14 months old - never pees during the night - never pees when confined in the kitchen and I'm at work for 6 or 7 hours - never pees when I'm home and faithfully get him outside every couple hours...
BUT - in the evening - I work in my office and otherwise just like to sit and relax and sometimes don't get him out when I should. So - I just slap a bellyband on him and let him run around and do whatever he wants. If his bellyband gets the slightest damp - I change it.
He has always worn one overnight - but it's almost always dry in the morning.
****** He wore them almost constantly when he was younger.
Believe me - my little guy would have been exactly like yours (exactly exactly exactly) - and I would have had all the same problems if I hadn't used bellybands. They are so easy - and totally solve your problems.
Louie is wearing his bellyband right now. I just felt it and it's dry. But, even if it weren't - I'm going to take it off and take him outside to pee.....and he usually does. Then I'll put it back on him when we come back in the house because it's late, and we'll be going to bed soon. But I will make sure it's dry before he goes to bed for the night.
***** I use washclothes - wrap them around his tummy - pin them with a diaper pin --- and off he goes!!!! (They're washable - and we have dozens of them --- very inexpensive).
If you learn to use and get used to using bellybands --all your problems will be solved!!!!!!! And -unlike what a lot of people think - this should in no way keep you from being able to house train your dog.
Good luck - if you have any questions - PM me....

PS: As far as pooping in the house - can't tell you what to do there - just pick it up and throw it in the toilet. As least poop doesn't do all the damage that pee does.... it's much easier to deal with.. |
