When my Max was about 6 months, he started to have accidents everywhere after being pretty reliable. Before that, he would pee 3 times an hour! Just when I thought he would never get it, he started to hold it and even goes to the door some of the time. He came to us litter trained and I didn't care for that. I decided to outside train him even thought we have really snowy winters. I left the pan out just in case, thinking to use it as an emergency measure over the winter cuz he's so small. Erin gave me great advice...get rid of the pan, or it might be forever...something I didn't want. I crate him unless I am with him and he is only allowed in the kitchen unless I know he is empty. He is never alone unattended in the house. I have had him 2 months and see that he is harder to train than any other dog I've had. He's so loving and fun, though, that I am willing to put ion the time. Can't wait until I can trust him. Max has never chewed anything but the toys I give him. Never had a dog that chewed on furniture. Sorry I can't help. Erin, I'm originally from the Chicago area... grew up in LaGrange. My family is still there. Whenever I go back, I can't believe the changes. I'm a small town "girl" now and the traffic is incredible. Miss my family, though. |
