My vet said 6-7 months. My vet prefers to wait as long as possible because Yorkies are so small. Getting it done before the first heat reduces the risk of mammary cancer. I'm with you. Gracie is 6 months and 1 week old and I am dealing with the same issue. I'm sure our babies will be fine, as were the millions that had it done before ours.
