My veterinarian HATES working on really small dogs. She actually was THANKFUL that Tristan was 13 lbs.
One day, when we brought Tristan in, there was another woman with her teacup Yorkie, asking if the vet knew of any studs. The vet kept trying to tell her that breeding her Yorkie would likely kill it (it was apparently somewhere around 2.5 lbs). The woman started walking off in a huff, then saw Tristan, and said "Oh! He's so cute! Would you like to see-" and my mom cut her off, saying "You never breed larger males with smaller females. Especially ones that are 7 times larger than the female. And he's neutered."
