It never fails....whenever we have friends over or I take Hootie and Hobbs on a walk or we go to a friends house and take the dogs....Hobbs NEVER gets any attention. I will be the first to admit that both Hootie and Hobbs are very small yorkies: Hobbs is 3.6lbs and Hootie weighs just under 3.0lbs. But everyone always gives Hootie all the attention and everyone completely ignores Hobbs....they say Hootie is smaller and thus, cuter.
I have always noticed how people act differently towards each of them, but it became very apparent and actually made me mad last night when we had some friends over to watch
Grey's Anatomy. We had 6 friends over and they kept passing around Hootie and oo'ing and awe'ing over her and they were actually being MEAN to Hobbs saying he was being annoying.
Hobbs was NOT being annoying. He is VERY VERY well behaved. He just has a big personality, whereas Hootie is strictly a lap dog. But no one wanted to hold Hobbs and everyone was doating on Hootie, and Hobbs was just getting his feelings hurt and thus, my feelings were hurt.
I know good and well there is nothing that I can do to change the way people view my yorkies. But it just irks me...what is this world coming to? My 3.6lbs yorkie is no longer cute because now I have a yorkie that is even smaller than he?! It just really makes me mad.
