[Archie's Mom]

My little stinker will not come to me. If I call his name (which he clearly knows), he may look up, but when I try to get him to pick him up, he jumps backwards (!!!) and will not let me pick him up. Sometimes when I call his name, he just ignores me and keeps doing what he's doing. He is 10 months old now, so I thought by now he would have gotten the hand of "come here." He also will not let me touch his face or brush him very often, which I have tried repeatedly. He's very stubborn, but is otherwise a sweet-tempered little dog. Dogs I've had in the past, even without obedience training, have come to me when I've called and let me pick them up without chasing them down. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any advice you can give.
