Yes, I definitely agree, but will even go a little further and say not until a year and a half. If you are not going to stud then definitely have him neutered as soon as possible though. The earlier the neuter the less chance of marking and humping. Also, I will add that I don't think there is an incredibly large market for stud dogs, but maybe there is in your area, but it would also be something to consider before you hold off on the neuter.
