I have eight foot wood fencing on one side of yard as the neighbors had a privacy fence up that hight and the other 3 sides are 4 ft. which I like because I can see out and yet the dogs don't leave the yard, we go around the yard and check every so often to make sure there are no places under fence that they could get out or that anything else can get in.
We are lucky our little ones are not diggers.
