You can actually blow a breaker rather than just trip it & the entire breaker needs to be replaced rather than just flipping the switch. This happened twice in an appartment we lived in because the box wasn't grounded. Replacing a breaker is something best handled by an electricitian.
Also since you are pretty sure lighting struck I would have an electrician out to check everything just to be on the safe side.
