I have a pom, Rocco he will be one in December. We just love him to death, he is a luv bug. He is our first pom. When I researched them, everything said they shed twice a year, well he started shedding at the end of August and hasn't stopped. That doesn't bother me, I have always been a daily sweeper and keep my house very clean, so I just clean up the fur daily. You will have to sweep daily if you don't want any traces of fur around the house. His personality is wonderful, he loves everybody. He is very loyal and is at my side all day long( I don't work). He is a very good guard dog, he barks at all noises outside and anything he sees outside, although if we had an intruder he would just lick them to death. If you don't like the barking I wouldn't suggest a pom, they are very vocal. I am sure I could break him of the barking he is easily trained, but I haven't tried very hard because it doesn't bother us. I would say poms are full of energy, he loves to play and run(especially with our yorkie Lily) but when he is pooped out he drops like a fly. I am so glad we have him, I always wanted a pom because I love their beautiful fur. He has turned out to be my 2 boys and husbands favorite out of our 3 dogs. I am sure it depends on the breeder and how you socialize them because I was always told poms can be nippy, but Rocco wouldn't hurt anything. If you have any other questions I'll be glad to try and answer what I can, as I am a pretty new pom owner myself.
