My first one was a C-section with a "Spinal." Yeap! But at least I was awake to see her born. She was 2 weeks late and 9.10# ooch!

My second was a VBAC (vaginal birth after a C-section) Back in the 80,s a VBAC was so new they did not want to give you anything in case of a rip you needed to tell them if something was wrong. Luckily he was born okay and no problems, except I was stuck at 8 cm for 2 hours - he was facing the wrong way. They tried everything - pushing and poking and rotating and up on knees in my bed so tummy had more room. Finally they told me to visalize him turning and just as quick as they told me to - he turned. Really weird how that works.

Just focus and work with your breathing. Squat a lot! It works - helps you dilate more. I had not even an asprin with my son's birth and he weighed 8.7.
It was a much better birth experience and I was ready to go home after. It was like nothing had ever happened after he was out. I think it was due to not having anything. We had champagne and celebrated in the recovery room!
