[QUOTE=JeanieK]The adrenaline rush that blocks the pain. I believe that people get the epidural cause they have no idea that adrenaline will block the pain naturally.QUOTE]

I had three with no pain killers and my adrenaline rush must kick in too late to stave off the pain. Because there was a LOT of pain. Well worth it, but still a lot of pain. After each, I would shake like a leaf for a good hour in recovery, and giggle like a kid. Couldn't stop, just hyped up and SO HAPPY. But the memory of the pain is still firmly etched in the memory banks. I actually got a little mad (okay, furious is more like it) with the third one when they finally said it was too late for the epidural, that I had been begging for two hours.
