Thieves do not confine themselves to any certain part of the world...there are some places where you do not need to lock your doors at night and other places you would not go out at night...just about everything happens in the UK as it does here in the USA, but on larger more frequent occurance due to the great difference in population of America.

PS..it is quite common for people in the UK to leave dogs in the car...shoot, we used to tie our dogs leash to the post outside the shops when we went inside...but that was a different time and place...
