YES! Unfortunately, in our 'land of plenty' we have plenty of selfish, uncaring people who just take what they want: property, pets, children!! You're very fortunate to live (at present) where you are free from such worries; but, you will need to make some adjustments when you move.
Just heighten your awareness skills as to who is around, and be sure the pups are not in situations where someone could just pick them up and walk off. Just as you would with your children.
My Abbie will be 1 y/o in 3 days, and so far I've been pretty generous with letting folks on the street hold her. But....THAT is going to change. |
