If I were you, with the natural curl in your hair, I would cut it short, short, short!!
That's the way I like mine because I have never had the time, patience nor the inclination in the last 20 years to do anything different. I have lightened mine but don't even do that anymore. Never enough time. Good luck and please let us see "after" pics too!!
