When I got my first yorkie, I thought about possibly breeding her. But what convinced me to change my mind was her first heat. Having my furniture covered with sheets and towels and her in diapers when we weren't home was just not for me. I called her vet after only 2 days of this and asked how soon I could have her "fixed". Once her heat cycle was over, appointment was made and any chance of her having puppies was ended. Then, when I got Gabby and then Gage, it was a "no brainer" - off to the vet they went to get neutered/spayed. I've never regretted it for a second - breeding is not for me. Those who are breeders have my utmost respect.
Good question - thanks for posting it!
