I like using my crockpot but I don't turn it on and leave for the day. Mine cooks faster than what is normal. One time I made chicken and veggies and left to go shopping for a few hours and when I came home 4 hours later the chicken was burned slightly--the recipe said 6-8 hours and it was done in half the time. It was really tender and still tasted good but I think I would have had a lump of charcoal in my crockpot if I returned within the 6-8 hours that the recipe recommended.
