Hey.....I jsut wanted to say that nothing I have ever cooked in mine of gotten mushy or too soggy and for some reason, it has never run out of water or juices either. I think it would take a lot ofr the crock (the inside part) to break from the heat and not having juices in it. The crock itself is really thick and then you have the metal around it.

Most meat (chicken, beef, etc) that I have cooked in mine, get so tender that the meat does just fall apart or easily shred...which is definitely what you want. In fact, the other day, I mixed up some BBQ sauce (easy to make from scratch, yes, I know, easier to buy a bottle) and put some skinless, boneless chicken breast in there...cooked it all day and when DH got home, I took a fork to the chicken and it just pulled apart sooooo easily...perfect for BBQ chicken sandwiches! YUM!

I think most crockpot recipes call for the right about of liquid for the recipes because I have never had any problems w/ any of the stuff I have cooked in mine. I REALLY LOVE MINE!!!
