Another idea is to prop her up on her hind legs and brush the tummy. In the beginning, she wouldn't let me do this, and would try to escape and be ALL over the place. I started grooming her on the bathroom counter so she couldn't jump down, and there was no place really to go. That helped some. Also, I SWEAR she understands from the tone of my voice when I mean business, and I finally just TOLD her very firmly what I was going to do, and why, and that she would just need to be patient and hold still. When she still struggled after that, (when she was younger), I would hold her scruff until she calmed down. Then she REALLY knows I mean business, because she doesn't get "scruffed" unless she's being pretty naughty!

Mybe try brushing her when she's all settled down and calm falling assleep - on her back? If they're tired, sometimes they fall asleep during brushing... so I heard
