Silkies have straight hair. The breed comes from a mix of the Yorkie & Australian terriers. The reason they have shorter legs, longer bodies, and longer muzzles is from the Australian terrier. I have a friend with an Australian terrier, they have a wire coat and a rougher look. Silkies have a tendancy to be more of a silver blue in color.
