I understand what you mean. You just have to be consistant with constant words of caution with kids...they forget things in a minute whereas it might stick with an adult for at least 10 min.
I still constantly preach to my 5 yo who has NEVER come close to harming any of the pups or dogs here, she just says, "Mom, I KNOW!"
