Bella is now 5 months old and she is doing really well with the pee pads. She will even go potty outside when we go on walks. She currently has a pad in her pen were she sleeps and stays during the day when we are not home. In the mornings I consistantly find that she has pooped on the pad sometime during the night. This isn't a huge problem, but when she gets excited and jumps around, it can get messy. I would like her to start "holding" it over night. My question is, how do I do this??
I wonder if she will continue to relieve herself in the pen even without the pad there, out of habit?
Sometimes she does wake up before it is time to "get up" and my policy has been to ignore any whining. If there is no pee pad should I take her out when she whines in the morning, see if she needs to go and then return her to the pen?
I don't want to confuse her into thinking whining will get my attention, so I am wondering how to approuch this.
Do you think a walk before bed might move things along?
Any suggestions?

Mine were doing that also. OMG what as mess and smell. Then we went to visit my dauighter and at her house I had them sleep in the crate. They didn't do it there so after we got home I continued to crate them at night. Worked like a charm
