I have never had a C-section with any of my litters and any puppies lost have all been within 24 hours. My last litter (Mom 4 3/4 pounds, Dad just under 4 pounds) at the end of July produced 4 puppies, 3 boys and 1 girl. One little boy had respiratory difficulties at birth and survived less than 24 hours. He was 2 and 1/2 ounces at best, compared to the others at 3 and 3 and 1/2 ounces. Although, I would say and he did look premature, she was only mated one time at the very end of the cycle (wasn't planning on breeding her this heat) since I had just bought her recently. The others are all very healthy and are 17 weeks old now settled into their new homes. We are having a puppy visiting day today so I can't wait to see what they weigh and what they are looking like.
