I have no recipes for treats, but I know some of the other members make and sell them.

So, your first Yorkie baby. HOW EXCITING! Hope you're prepared to fall hopelessly in love 'cause these little boogers sure can steal your heart fast.

My suggestions for what you'll need are:

Crate (small) But please don't leave the babe in there for more than 5 hours (less if possible).

Harness & leash (never let your babe lose. It's easer to train them to a leash when they're young)

Chew toys (NO rawhide!)

Warm blankie.

Playpen or small area closed off by baby gates (Wal-Mart sells them for 10 bucks - great investment). You won't want to give the puppy full run of the house for a while.

I've always had rescue Yorkies that were older, but I now have a puppy. I've found that keeping her in her crate on the bed with me at night makes us both feel better. She's a little over 3 months now (I had a litter, so I've had her since birth) and is just now starting to sleep outside the crate. She's always slept all night, so this works out great.

As for food, I would keep the new one on whatever the breeder was feeding, at least for the first couple of weeks. You don't want to traumatize the little thing with too many changes at once. After he/she starts feeling at home, you can change, if needed.

The last thing you'll need is lots of patience. They're stubborn little ones, but well worth the effort.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS! Please post photos ASAP.
