Default Collapsed Trachea

I am just trying to learn more about collapsed trachea, as the vet has diagnosed Moe as having this.I would like to know things I can do for him when he goes into what I call his "fits", sometimes they last so long he closes his eyes and looks like he may pass out.I have tried to be aware of the triggers for his episodes, so far its, excitement, perfumes or perfumed sprays, being upset such as bath time or grooming time(he dont like them) cold air, and certain amounts of pressure on his chest, such as trying to hold him still or in place. The dr hasn't assigned him any medications or types of therapy for this, so I wondered what I could do.Any suggestions are welcome.
