I had my first encounter with a yorkie while working front desk at a local hotel. The guest entered the lobby with this little dog on a leash. Suffice it to say this dog OWNED that guest, the hotel, and other guests in a matter of seconds. Later this guest had me hold the yorkie while she got a bagel from our breakfast bar. The love of the breed started right then and there for me.
It was the whole package that mesmerized me. He was so small, but didn't know it, so adorable, but DID know that. I had never been a dog person before that day. I think if he had been a bigger dog, he would not have had the same affect on me. So, I would say size does matter, after a certain point. You know, one that is say up to 10-15lbs would probably still be okay, but beyond that it wouldn't be the same dog to me.
