Do as your vet suggested and give the food first, not the formula - If you feel a need to give formula - use it for the "water" in the food and make a really soupy gruel. Also you need to introduce them to water and be leaving it out at all times. Get one of those wide based anti tip stainless steel bowls, not plastic because of bacteria. Feed 5 times a day and if everyone is eating there is no need for the bottle feeding regularly throughout the day.
It could be the ones that died have liver shunts or some other internal problems. I have never had any valuable information come from a bird or dog autopsy. I don't think most vets do enough of them to have any real knowledge. |
