Is your home real well insulated? We are located in the mountains here in Calif. our winter nights get quite cold and we do get the snow, our home is very well insulated. I would say at 68 that would be comfortable for us. Have you tried using a humidifier, we do and it seems to help. When I use the wood stove always have a kettle with water on top. Insultation is really beneficial, we use the a/c in summer and it doesn't come on a lot cause once the house is cooled down it usually stays comfortable, we are thankful that we did insulate so well.
