I know what you mean about the windows open.
I keep mine on 55 when I leave during the day so Buddy is ok and when I return up to 70. I can't stand to be cold however in the bedroom I put it on 55 and open the window a couple of inches. I like the bedroom cool and bury under the covers. Buddy does not like covers
I try covering him and he gets up and moves so I guess he will have a cold butt this winter.
