When someone comes to the house we have a room by the front door we put them in. More than concern of them bolting out, I don't like greeting people with the dogs making a fuss.
We do this too! The computer room is right by the front door, I put them in there and then answer the door. Especially with 3 yapping, nobody likes to have the door opened to that. LOL They wouldn't run out though. I can't get mine to get away from me, I can't imagine them running out the front door and off from me. But as puppies they might have, I just trained them not to. I put a leash on them and would open the door and tell them to stay, I'd step on the leash if they started to go and tell them no, stay, praise.
