Hi,

I just got another yorkie today, well be posting pics later on but any how, she is 7 mths old weighs about 4 + pounds and has very beautiful hair but she has soo much of it. It is thick but soft and silky. She is very black with red gold around face and legs. My question is I still want her hair long but just not so much of it. I will be taking her to the groomers soon but I don't know how to tell them to cut it without screwing it up. How can I tell the groomer to remove some of the bulkiness in it, do I tell her to texturize as we humans call it. I myself have alot of hair and very thick so I just tell my stylist to thin it out. Is that the same thing for dogs? You can't even tell she has a tail cause she has so much junk in the trunk with all that hair .Her hair is about 2 inches from touching the floor already and she still a pup. She does have a wave to it and has no signs of silver on her back just very seldom on her head like I said she is jet black on her back, around legs and chest So for all you yorkie owners that are familiar with this type of hair , how do I cut it without cutting it off. Please help................

Thanks Mimi
Ask your groomer if she has thinning shears and then ask her if she knows how to use them. Then make sure she understands what you want. Be very clear that you do not want any length taken off just thinned next to the skin. I hope you find the right groomer, if you get a confused look when you are talking to her , keep looking..... Good luck!!!
