Never heard that one. Starr's nose was light in the center, and she was outside all the time (we live in Florida, and have a doggy door). Luna is never outside (pee pad trained) and her nose is like coal. That's funny, I'm gonna ask the vet about that next time we go in. Learn somethin' new every day
