There are a lot of yorkies with MVD and they only that it can be properly diagnosed is with exploratory surgery. You might want to find a specialist in your area that deals with gastro issues. My yorkie who is less than 2 pounds was diagnosed with MVD through a bile acid test and it was confirmed with the liver biopsy. Her MVD is mild she has no symptoms even her bile acid levels are not off the chart. Her prognosis is good. She underwent her spay at the same time as the biopsy and got her baby teeth pulled. She did well and two weeks later you would never know she had major surgery. Find a specialist that is more equipped to perform the surgery. I just never heard not performing surgery with a liver disease, that is usually how the diagnose is made.
