There are Vets that can do surgery on creatures as small as a small rabbit or even a hamster.
As for his size, it could be something to do with glandular, hormonal or other reasons he hasn't grown. Some of these won't have a problem if he does goes under for surgery but the blood panel will give a bunch of info for a start.
If everything looks like it could procede, definitely have him on an IV during the procedure. It helps keep him hydrated and will reduce the stress of the drugs involved as well as the surgery.
Good luck with your baby and you are right, you are caught between a rock and a hard place. That's a very difficult call to make.
thanks for that...i think that i should find a hospital rather than the vet, because the vet i seen yesterday, i was not too sure about, she does not work there normally...but as for the iv, i will mention that also. thanks for that.
