Thanks to all my fellow dog (yorkie) lovers ! |
I feel your pain but it's very difficult to have any dog with aggressive behavoir. I have a new 9 month old Yorkie for 2 months from a so called reputable breeder. The Yorkie attacked my smaller(calm, sweet) year old dog, both are neutered and tore his throat open. I was bitten removing the Yorkie from the other dogs throat. I have been working with a vet/behavoirist and now a dog trainer. I've spent over $6,000., so far including what I paid for the puppy ($3,000. ripped off), and we've only just begun. This puppy was misrepresented to me by his breeder (she lied big time). I will never trust him again nor will I rehome him knowing he is aggressive. I'm trying to do my best but two vets reccommended euthanizing him. I can't even think about that now. I have room in my house for him to live separated from my two other dogs but I'm heartbroken since he was bought after I lost my Yorkie, love of my life, in July. It isn't easy to rehome an 8 yr. old dog with aggressive issues. I don't think before this happened to me that I could even relate to anyone having to deal with this. I take pet ownership seriously, as I sense from your posts that you do as well. I have had dogs all my life and never had this experience previously.
I wish you all the best and know how hard this must be for you.
