I also disagree with your vet , if a puppy isn't eating then Nutridrops or Nutrical is necessary. It can hasten dehydration, but death will occur without it. I don't have much faith in a vet that sees a tiny puppy on death's doorstep and does absolutely nothing to help him. In the very least he could have given sub-q fluids. Vets that don't want you to educate yourself are only worried that you will question their knowledge. My vet is the President of the Veterinary Association and he never minds me interjecting my knowledge, but also disagrees with me at times, and fully explains why.
