if you're on windows xp you can do a recover to the day before or wherever you have a date set up - mine doesn't work now but that would be what I'd try too -

Good idea! Go to start, Control Panel, Performance & Maintenance, then click on System Restore. It will walk you through the process. It is completely reversible if you do it and decide you don't like it.
