I'm starting to do this myself this past weekend. Especially after Adonis had one break way too short for me to mess with.

Both of mine let me do this. I was shocked myself. I just got the clippers this past Saturday.

My vet said Adonis really didn't need his trimmed. I suppose the huge concrete back porch I have keeps his down a good bit, somehow. I'd never trimmed his and he's 5 years old!

But I will start doing this when needed. I know Venus's nails looked like cat claws! And she'd scratched me several times trying to get on my shoulder to sit.

Several suggested doing this after bathing. That way the nails are soft, and they don't hear that "click".

Glad you got the nerve to try this too! It was scary for me at first, but I know now, its something I can do.
